According to a surprising Playthings news report posted today, worldwide toy market sales, excluding video games, exceeded USD$71.96 billion during 2007, which represents a 5 percent increase over the market's 2006 performance. The Playthings article, which is based on NPD's Global Toy Trends and Forecasts report, attributes significant growth to toy sale gains in the BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India, and China) markets which increased from 8.8% of the worldwide totals...

We're still about 3 months away from the release of the WALL-E movie here. Translations and dubbing take a lot of time, especially for a major release like WALL-E, but from everything we've heard from our overseas readers and friends, the movie is definitely well worth the wait. In the meantime, we've been satisfying our WALL-E urges by tracking down websites devoted to the movie. One that caught our attention...
